Small Vintage-looking Kalimba Thumb Piano from Kenya
Sometimes known as an Mbira, a Kalimba, and many other terms, depending on the language of the tribe using this very common African musical instrument, this is a “thumb piano”, not surprisingly played with the two thumbs by the person playing it. Although these look like they could have been used in Kenya for musical purposes we don’t think they really were. Those we have all vary slightly in shape and size but are almost all the same.
This instrument measures: 4 1/4 x 3 7/8″ (11 x 10 cm)
