Large Toma Mask – Guinea
This large decorative African mask faithfully conforms to the traditional design of comparable masks made and used by the Toma people of Guinea in West Africa although this one was not made for ritual purposes nor was it actually ever used. An authentic version of this same mask would have been worn in a ceremonial dance, calling forth the spirit which the wearer of the mask represents.
